Woman Finds Herself After All of These Years!

Born with creative aptitude and a flair for the aesthetically pleasing, I have spent my life seeking and making art. At one point, I owned a store called Handid, where I sold a mix of handcrafted products, both fine art and fine crafts. I have always drawn and painted, even as a little child. And, in addition, I have made life-size and lifelike soft sculptures of humans, made pianos and cacti from foamcore; wall-hangings and screens, from wood and fiber. I have designed costumes, mascots, signs, evening bags, gift wrap and florals, store displays and designs, concrete slabs to natural stone finishes, sheetrock to brick pub walls, done statue repair and handpainted floors. Loeb Realty and Coca Cola commissioned me to paint murals on high profile exterior brick walls in 2001-2002. I participated in the Brooks League Art Show for three years, and The Pink Palace Crafts Fair for four. A very dear friend of mine, and fellow artist, Denise Foster, said she saw one time where my style of painting is called, "Magical Realism". I had no idea because I have never studied painting. The art world calls people like me, "outsiders".

Along the way, I have been in sales and marketing.  I had a wholesale company called, On the Road Again Gifts, where I sold handmade children's hair accessories and jewelry.  I travelled six states, much like the 'jobbers' did in the old days.  Over the years, I was the Marketing Director for The Desoto Business Report, and at various times have sold printing, advertising, furniture, clothing, murals, paintings, and photography.

Currently, I am in the midst of a new marketing venture.  That will go nicely with my research, my painting and looking for found objects to turn into art!
