Panagis Koutsokostas was born in Edessa, Greece in 1983. He completed his graduate studies at the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly and his postgraduate studies at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication (M.Sc. in Cultural Informatics & Museology) of the University of the Aegean on a scholarship.

He has collaborated with the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Greek Ministry of Education on issues of museology, cultural management, digitizing and archiving collections, while he is working in the field of curating exhibitions and writing essays for exhibition catalogues and art books. In 2013 he participated in the national representation of Greece in the Venice Biennale as a researcher and assistant curator for the Greek Pavilion. Also he has participated in research programms on the usage of new technologies in museums and in research in primal archival materials and collections from museums, libraries, private and public records, the results of which have been published in scientific conferences, specialized workshops and exhibition catalogues.

He is engaged in issues of documentation and interpretation of material culture and cultural heritage through Information Technologies, issues of iconography and iconology of modern and contemporary art and the role of the public art in urban regeneration and the formation of collective memory.
