Paul Carney
caseworker, Photographer, and Project Manager in Achill, County Mayo
I’m a creative and resourceful individual with a diverse background in customer service, communication, and problem-solving. My journey has been shaped by an eclectic mix of experiences: from working as a research scientist, caseworker and counsellor to IT account management, photography, and distribution. Each role has honed my skills in adaptability, empathy, and a solutions-driven mindset.
My passion for creativity and helping others drives everything I do. Whether through visual storytelling as a photographer or contributing to teams in the nonprofit sector, I always aim to make a meaningful impact. Over 18 years in the UK’s third sector have taught me the value of governance, collaboration, and resilience. Whether volunteering, managing, or serving as a trustee, I’ve approached every challenge with dedication and a commitment to making a real difference.
I'm passionate about leveraging technology, social media, and “soft power” to create fairer, more connected communities. I’m constantly learning and growing, inspired by the chance to collaborate with others and make positive contributions to my community and the wider society.
I bring a balance of evidence-based strategic thinking and intuitive problem-solving, complemented by exceptional communications abilities, a positive can do attitude and a dash of humour. I strive to embody empathy, excellence, and a strong work ethic in everything I do.
Let’s connect — I’m eager to learn, contribute, and continue growing in ways that help make a difference.
