Paz, the Pink Pied Ringneck Dove

I'm a ringneck dove (also known as Barbary Dove) with scientific name, genus and species: Streptopelia risoria; and have pink pied colorings/markings. My species belongs to the scientific Family Columbidae (Doves and Pigeons) in the Aves (Birds) Class of the Animal Kingdom. I'm the companion of Sal Niner, founder of DOVEBOOK, The Dove and Pigeon Social Network. I came into Sal's life in 2008 and ever since then I've been a beloved friend. I'm here to promote keeping doves as pets, viewing them as the intelligent bird friends that they are, and including them as part of the family.

My favorite foods are Kaytee Supreme Fortified Daily Blend Dove seeds and Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health Songbird Treat Canary & Finch supplement seeds (I eat these with gusto!). I love a little Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health Hi-Cal Grit Supplement for Small Birds in my diet every now and then, as well as various vegetables. My favorite toy is an activitoys Hall of Mirrors brand yellow rectangular mirror. I like to play "dead", and stretch one wing straight up in the air followed by the other as if doing "aerobics"; but my absolute favorite things to do are coo-cooing and sunbathing.

I'm the Official Mascot of DOVEBOOK, The Dove and Pigeon Social Network! I "carry" their torch...well...if I had thumbs I really would! :-D
