Since 2011, Rit Mathis has acted as the spokesperson for Mathis Brothers Furniture. Mr. Mathis, whose grandfather established the company in 1960, started working in the family business when he was 14 years old. He helped with the day-to-day maintenance of the store, sweeping the floors and emptying ashtrays. He began working for the company full time in 2002 after graduating from Southern Methodist University with Bachelor's degrees in History and Economics. He later oversaw the company's Asian operations, a role in which he collaborated with area manufacturers and traveled in the region for business purposes.

When Rit Mathis took on the role of company spokesperson, a position that had been held by his father and uncle since 1971, he transferred to the largest Mathis Brothers Furniture store, in Ontario, California. The company offers affordable, luxury furniture options for the living room, bedroom, dining room, and even the office and patio. The organization offers a complimentary interior design service for its clientele.

Currently, the company is offering a summer savings event that gives customers significant savings in every section of the store. The company, which sells a wide variety of furniture styles and several types of mattresses, has showrooms in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Indio, California; and Ontario, California. Rit Mathis supports several charities in his community, including the Spark of Love toy drive in Los Angeles, California, and the membership drive for the Oklahoma City Zoo. The company contributes to more than a hundred charities.
