Robert Allmen

Robert Allmen is Pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic congregation in Hampton Bays, New York. After being ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1980, Allmen was appointed a Bishop and Pastor of the church in 1987. An alumnus of Georgetown University, Robert Allmen also attended the Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception. He holds a Master of Divinity as well as a Doctor of Divinity and has studied theology, philosophy, and psychology. In addition, Allmen is a Fellow of the American Orthopsychiatric Association. For more than two decades, he has been listed in the Who’s Who in Human Resources. Robert Allmen serves as Executive Director of the Family Counseling Center, where he has contributed his time and energy for more than 25 years. He strives to serve struggling families, individuals who feel slighted by their communities or their congregations, and women and children in need with respect and compassion. In addition to these duties, Allmen performs weddings for couples across the Northeastern U.S., in particular those who live on Long Island and in New York City. He is a member of the National Association of Wedding Officiants. Robert Allmen performs traditional Catholic, contemporary, and interfaith ceremonies for couples getting married outside the church. For those who have already been married, no annulment is necessary. He encourages couples to personalize their nuptials—including selecting their own prayers and readings, writing their own vows, and even adding music—to make the occasional truly memorable. Allmen also incorporates unity candle or sand rituals as well as family medallion presentations for couples who already have children into his ceremonies.
