Robert T Fremeau Jr PHD

A resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Robert T. Fremeau, Jr., PhD, attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a bachelor of science in microbiology. Subsequently, he was accepted into the PhD program at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Studying biochemistry and neuroscience, he spent much of his time learning how to identify and characterize neuropeptide receptors in the mammalian CNS. Dr. Robert T. Fremeau, Jr., graduated with his PhD in four years and subsequently accepted a postdoctoral fellowship with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, where he worked in the laboratories of Dr. James Roberts and Dr. Jurgen Brosius for three years.

Dr. Fremeau went on to serve in several positions, including senior scientist at Glaxo, Inc., assistant professor of pharmacology at Duke University Medical Center, and visiting professor for the departments of neurology and physiology at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2004, Dr. Fremeau joined Amgen, Inc., as the scientific director of neuroscience, leading the Thousand Oaks team. After eight years, he moved to the Cambridge office to oversee the Alzheimer’s disease program and provide recruitment support. Today, Dr. Fremeau is the owner and principal at NeuroRx Consulting.
