Licensed as an independent clinical social worker (LICSW), Dr. Robin Ohringer possesses several decades of experience in the fields of social work and psychotherapy. She completed her undergraduate education in Child Study at Tufts University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and named to Phi Beta Kappa before entering the Smith College School for Social Work. There, she earned her MSW, submitting a thesis on object loss during childhood and adolescence. Following this, Dr. Robin Ohringer also completed the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute’s advanced training program in psychoanalytic therapy, going on to pursue her PhD in social work at Simmons College. Dr. Ohringer supplemented her doctoral studies with family therapy workshops offered by the Cambridge Family Institute, simultaneously completing her dissertation entitled, “Mid-life Mothers: A Study of Career Women Who Have a First Child at Thirty-five and Older.”
Dr. Robin Ohringer draws on her substantial studies in child and family therapy to run a private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There, she offers treatment for a wide range of psychological difficulties, including post-traumatic stress disorder, body image issues, depression, anxiety, and grief. Dr. Ohringer also provides specialized support to women facing obstacles such as single parenting, pregnancy loss, and infertility.
