An expert in rehabilitation medicine and pain management, Dr. Samuel Theagene frequently handles workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. Prior to relocating to New York in 2010, he served as a State Designated Disability Doctor and Independent Medical Evaluator in Texas. Dr. Samuel Theagene founded and maintains Empire State Pain & Neuro P.C. of New York, with locations in Medford and Brentwood. Specializing in interventional spinal procedures, Dr. Samuel Theagene also works with other musculoskeletal diseases, orthopedic issues, and trigger point management. His clinic maintains some of the most advanced diagnostic and rehabilitation equipment available. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Samuel Theagene also holds extensive experience relating to inpatient hospitals. He provides comprehensive neurorehabilitation treatment to patients with traumatic brain injury and stroke. He has also worked in areas such as amputation and orthopedic injuries, cancer rehabilitation, and spasticity management. Following the completion of his medical studies, Dr. Samuel Theagene began working with pain management and rehabilitation centers in Texas. Dr. Theagene served as Medical Director at Pain Management and Spine Care International Neurosurgical Clinic of San Antonio for a year prior to co-founding his own practice, with offices in San Antonio and the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. His facility was certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for buprenophine and held affiliations with several major hospitals in the area. Outside of his clinical career, Dr. Samuel Theagene has also taught medicine. He held a position as an Assistant Professor with the State University of New York. He has also volunteered to teach stoichiometry, nomenclature, and dosing to undergraduate studies. Dr. Theagene donates his time to provide medical care to individuals who are underserved in the region of Rinconada in Mexico on a periodic basis. He also contributes to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the charity Food for Orphans.
