Sandra Belmont

An accomplished ophthalmologist with many years of experience in the field, Dr. Sandra Belmont currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Resident Refractive Surgical Education at New York University School of Medicine. She also maintains her own practice as a cornea specialist and general ophthalmologist at the Belmont Eye Center in New York City. Doctor Belmont is a recipient of the prestigious Richard C. Troutman Master Teacher Award in Ophthalmology for her work in the field of laser vision correction. Before taking up her current responsibilities, Dr. Sandra Belmont spent almost 10 years as Director of the Laser Vision Correction Center and Cornea Service at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Throughout the years, Dr. Sandra Belmont has performed laser vision correction procedures on a wide range of patients including pilots, newscasters, celebrities, and members of the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition to completing a successful televised corneal transplant for Many Patinkin, Dr. Sandra Belmont oversaw the LASIK procedure of Regis Philbin, which was also televised on Live! with Regis and Kelly.
