Sarah Minton

Since 1995, Sarah Minton has owned and operated Great Harbor Rental, through which she rents two vacation homes located in Edgartown, Massachusetts, on Martha’s Vineyard. Upon acquiring the properties, she applied the knowledge she attained as an architecture student at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York, to direct a construction team in restoration and building work on the residences. Along with handling routine structural repairs and maintenance, Sarah Minton manages all of Great Harbor Rental’s business functions. In recognition of her aptitude for effectively marketing her properties and booking guests, Ms. Minton has been designated a Local Owner Champion by vacation rental listing agency HomeAway.

Among her other entrepreneurial ventures, Sarah Minton formerly owned Avalon Harbor Cruises and for three years chartered cruises departing from the Martha’s Vineyard towns of Vineyard Haven and Edgartown. Having obtained a United States Coast Guard license to operate a vessel of up to 50 gross tons in inland waters, she piloted a 26’ Seacraft Safari and took guests on fishing trips, as well as visits to neighboring islands, including Nantucket, Chappaquiddick Island, and the Elizabeth Islands.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Ms. Minton enjoys a number of sports and outdoor activities, such as biking, fishing, hiking, skiing, and playing golf. She has won sailing races in the Gulf of Maine Offshore Racing Association and now competes in races around the Martha’s Vineyard area.
