Sierra Shoopman

For the past four years, recent college graduate Sierra Shoopman has been immersed in the study of biological sciences, setting the stage for a prolific career in the medical field. As an undergraduate at the University of Washington from September 2007 through June 2011, Sierra Shoopman maintained a consistent level of academic excellence, both in her science and humanities coursework. During this time, Sierra Shoopman declared her major in Biology and minor in Chemistry, appeared on the Dean’s list on numerous occasions, and was selected to the UW Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization – a further testament to her outstanding performance. In addition, Sierra Shoopman was an active member of the Kappa Chapter of the Delta Zeta Sorority throughout her academic tenure at UW, serving at various times as Assistant Activities Chair and Assistant Philanthropy Chair. To this end, Sierra Shoopman successfully organized several charitable events held by Delta Zeta, including fundraising campaigns for the Hole in the Wall Gang’s Painted Turtle camp for children with life-threatening illnesses and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. In June 2011, Sierra Shoopman earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from UW and has since set out to undertake additional scholastic and professional opportunities in the medical field.

Prior to enrollment at UW, Sierra Shoopman graduated from Capital High School in Olympia, Washington, where she participated in the Running Start program, which afforded her the opportunity to take college-level courses at South Puget Sound Community College. An honors student, Sierra Shoopman received a Washington State Principals’ Award for Academic Excellence, maintained a grade point average of 3.89, and simultaneously earned her diploma from Capital High School and Associate of Arts from South Puget Sound Community College in June 2007.
