After studying electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, Sophia Tran successfully completed her master's degree in business administration with a focus on marketing and was already familiar with the agency business for a number of years. She gained experience at the management consultancy Detecon International (German Telekom), later at the luxury group LVMH and at an business publisher. In 2012 Sophia published the online lifestyle magazine SMOKEY CATS.

She gained experience in the start-up sector by helping to set up the incubator and accelerator DIGITALHUB.de, where she was responsible for marketing, partnerships and investment.

In 2021 she founded Spotlight! Ventures - the tech company give startups a stage and accompany them on their way: From Zero to Hero!

For many people Sophia is know because she hosted several television shows in Germany like “GALILEO” or “Experience Adventure” and talks about the latest trends and innovation. She also hosts a lot of international startup events and conferences, as WebSummit, START Summit, VivaTech or SLUSH.

Additionally she acts as a business angel, loves to photograph and travel around the world and is particularly known as a tech influencer on social networks and through her blog.
