Sterrett Lloyd

A resident of North Carolina, Kent Sterrett Lloyd attended Indiana University in Bloomington on a scholastic scholarship. Initially a science major, he transitioned his focus to electronic engineering and enrolled at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Within two years, Sterrett Lloyd earned an associate degree.

While in school, Kent Sterrett Lloyd joined the elevator service industry as a representative for Mid America Elevator. He then accepted a branch manager role with Abell Elevator & Schindler Elevator, overseeing the Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Columbus offices. After eight years, he took on the role of president of Abell Elevator International, Inc., and relocated to Louisville, Kentucky. In the executive role, he led strategic initiatives related to commercial business, operations, and engineering. His leadership played an integral role in enhancing the company’s installation and service offerings, keeping the firm competitive in its industry worldwide. Today, Mr. Lloyd leads as president of Draka Elevator, an international company providing service as far as China.
