Résumé [PDF]

I am a strategic communications specialist with deep experience in reputation management, media relations, brand identity, and crisis communications. After several years working in both corporate communications and public affairs in Washington, D.C., I recently moved to Denver. Now I want to put my experience to work for innovative companies and organizations that deserve to have their stories better told.

I was most recently the Communications Director for National Journal, a multi-platform media organization known for its intelligent reporting and analysis. At NJ, I served as the strategic lead on corporate communications during a time in which every aspect of the brand was being reimagined to compete in the rapidly evolving media industry. NJ is a division of Atlantic Media Company, which also publishes The Atlantic.

Prior to that, I was a communications consultant at New Partners, Inc., specializing in effective messaging, strategic planning, media training, and writing for a variety of corporate and non-profit clients. I was also a nationally televised political commentator, making regular appearances on Fox News, MSNBC, and CNBC.

I originally honed my communications skills in the intense arena of political campaigns. In 2008, I served as Communications Director for the U.S. Senate campaign of Sen. Mark Udall of Colorado. I previously served on the campaign staffs of Senator Chris Dodd (Ct.) and Governors Tim Kaine (Va.) and Chet Culver (Ia.), as well as on campaigns in Virginia and Georgia.
