Thijs Muizelaar

I am a transport/traffic engineer, graduated in 2003 at the Centre for Transport Studies of the University of Twente. Directly following my graduation I started my PhD studies at the knowledge center AIDA, also at the University of Twente. In december 2011 I defended the resulting PhD thesis on traffic information, non-recurrent traffic situations and their effects on route choice. In 2008 I started working at Capgemini as a business analyst for the mobility/traffic domain, supporting clients with analysis of business processes, requirements and as a project manager. Currently, I work for the municipality of Amsterdam as senior advisor for traffic management.

My ambitions are to deal with complex challenges and problems in multi-discplinairy teams, especially related to traffic, transport or mobility. I'm very much interested in choice behaviour and the possibilities of using this knowledge in daily traffic problems.

In my spare time I like to hike, go on a ride with my bicycle and take photographs, all activities I like to do together with my wife.
