I have a love affair with beer: not simply its flavors —as delicious, complex, and varied as they may be— but with beer's history, science, lore, and evolving creation.

I have been in the beer business for over twenty-five years: as a beer (and wine) wholesaler, a brewery brand manager, a brewer and production plant brewmaster, a brewpub owner, a speaker and writer, and a consultant.

Beer may be my vocation, but cask ale is my mission.
