Tom Crawford M&T

Tom Crawford is the Administrative Vice President and Group Manager at M&T Bank in Baltimore, Maryland. Since 2009, he has led the company's commercial banking division in managing relationships with nonprofit companies and middle market businesses in the greater Baltimore area. Tom Crawford's team of commercial bankers at M&T offers professional business development services to these companies. Under his guidance, the department has developed a customer portfolio with over $450 million in commitments.

In the years before he worked as a vice president, Tom Crawford held multiple positions in banking, many of which were leadership-oriented. Before working with M&T, Mr. Crawford served as a Senior Vice President and Division Manager for Provident Bank, where he led the commercial banking division for several years. Additionally, he held the role of Vice President and Team Leader at Chevy Chase Bank, where he was in charge of the commercial loan production office.

Tom Crawford got his start in banking when he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Maryland in1984. His first banking job began the same year, when he was hired as an associate to a commercial credit officer at Barnett Bank in Tampa, Florida. Since then, Mr. Crawford has amassed a great deal of experience in the financial industry, but he has not neglected his education. He returned to school to earn an M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore in 1991 and a Certificate of Public Accountancy in 1998.

Adding to Tom Crawford's experience are his several affiliations and appointments outside of his bank work. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Maryland Foundation since 2008, and serves the Chair of its Strategic Planning Committee. He has also served on the board of directors for The Family Tree since 2000, and is Co-chair of the organization's Development Committee. In the past, Mr. Crawford has served as a member of the Agency Assessment and Funds Allocation Committee of the United Way of Central Maryland.
