The First Stars Of Vaudeville

100 years ago, in an age before television, the internet and the cinema, eager audiences across Europe and America found their entertainment in the music halls, vaudevilles and variety shows.

Acrobats, magicians, comedy acts, jugglers, stunt men, dancers and novelty acts all offered thrills and excitement, plus many acts that although common at the time are by todays standard just downright weird!

Now, with a breathtaking collection of restored original film footage from as far back as 120 years ago, modern day vaudevillian Allin Kempthorne presents a nostalgic, exciting and often unexpected look at these dancers, circus acts, burlesque performers, acrobats and novelties, including contortionists, animal acts, gun and knife acts and more who were amongst the earliest stars of vaudeville to ever be captured on film.

Amongst these incredible early film clips, you'll see amazing acrobatic comedians from 1899, Annie Oakley and stars from Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, magicians doing the impossible, breakdancers from 100 years ago, performing animals, Japanese foot jugglers, bodybuilders, a dwarf on the trapeze and a baby elephant with a skipping rope! An amazing, eye opening and truly inspiring look at acts you'll never see today.
