A.B. Sporer has been a passionate music man from the very start. He began his career in 1991 as a junior product manager with Bertelsmann BMG. After that, he was product manager for one of the world's most successful international labels, Arista, and supervised such top artists as Whitney Houston, Lisa Stansfield, Ringo Starr, Jennifer Warnes + Crash Test Dummies. He transferred as product manager to EMI in Cologne in 1993, marketing + promoting artists like Tom Astor or Claudia Jung, achieving their highest record sales to date. Further artists such as Dirk Bach, Nena, Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung, Purple Schulz, Jennifer Rush or Herbert Grönemeyer followed. Two years down the road, A.B. Sporer was offered the position of marketing manager at Warner Music + supported class acts like Simply Red, AC/DC, Sarah Brightman (Time to say goodbye), Scorpions, Bonnie Tyler + Henry Maske. He was also responsible for the over 1.2 million albums sold with the techno act Dolls United. In 1996, Bertelsmann brought him back on board in Munich where he worked as a marketing director, promoting top acts like Peter Maffay, Snap or the Kelly Family.

Ten years after entering the music business, A.B. Sporer started his own company - the POPVIRUS Entertainment Pool Co. Ltd. - in the year 2001. He expanded + diversified his focus, adapting to the changes + shifts in the music industry + market.

With POPVIRUS Library – a new and different music archive – a contemporary branch was founded in 2005, supplying music for TV, film, cinema, online + advertising. The POPVIRUS Library catalogue currently consists of over 600 albums with over 25.000 song titles, penned + produced by over 200 composers + producers. Clients such as i.e. Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Dr. Oetker, WMF or Lidl use music from POPVIRUS.
