Writer, Creative Strategist, ESL teacher in Milwaukee

From an early age, I've adored travel, languages, writing, and being active.

Professionally, these passions have translated into jobs as a television writer, creative and writer for a design firm, English teacher around the world, and writer of blogs and books.

Personally, my interests have instilled in me a desire to travel the world, and meet as many people as I can and understand how they live.

In my travels and day to day life, I appreciate the differences in culture that make us all choose different ways to live, work, and play. Understanding our differences and similarities is my life's passion.

In addition, my passion for movement- through running, yoga, and golf, have afforded me opportunities to run marathons, practice yoga, and play and write about golf around the world.

Finally, I believe in the importance of leading a life of wellness and one that allows me to honor my talents, interests, and the people in my life. I feel writing is the best way to communicate everything that I feel is important and want to share with the world.

Thanks for visiting my page! Just a disclaimer- you don't need to be a runner to be here! My work is inspired by my runs, but not necessarily about the run. I began marathon running in 2003, and found it a great way to bond with friends while on group runs, but also reflect while I ran solo. Runnerchica was born after many a run left me with inspirational thoughts and ideas long after my runs were over.

I decided to build a platform to record the inspiration I gained while running- hence, I entered the blogging world in 2007, and since then my writing has taken me many places. I published my first book, The Great Search in late 2012, and recently had it translated to Spanish (La Gran Búsqueda). Currently, I'm finishing Why Not 26.2?. This book will feature highlights from my blog as well as practical advice for first time marathoners, or anyone considering checking off an item on their bucket list!

When I'm not working on my book or blog, I am busy with freelance writing projects (social media updates, press releases, commercial spots, book trailers, etc.).
