I’m a former award-winning journalist embarking on a new career in software development.

For 11 years I worked successfully as professional writer and reporter for USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin, but the digitization of newspapers rekindled my love for computers. I had two hobbies growing up: Writing stories and writing programs. I was the proud nerd in elementary school who checked out programming books from the library so I could create text-based adventure games using QBasic on my dad's PC. I'm excited to tap that part of my brain again.

Today, I'm pursuing a second degree in programming and database management at Fox Valley Technical College. I will graduate in December of 2017.
