My name is Adrian Puryear and I have been slaying vampires since I was 5 years old.Adrian about the authors

At least, that was when I saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer the movie for the first time. It was one of the first movies I saw in the theater. As a little girl my great loves were the Buffy movie, The Karate Kid franchise, and like any proper child born in the 80's, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One of my first real words was "Leonardo", but I don't wanna brag. If you're wondering, I have liked every turtle more than the others at one point or another, so I can't really answer the question of who my favorite is.

When I was 9, the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer premiered on The WB. And Buffy and her friends from then on dictated all my life decisions. WWBD? (What Would Buffy Do) was a question I thought of often. Not only when dealing with friendships, school, and family would I think of Buffy, but also definitely with clothing choice and haircuts. I continued to be a fan of all things Joss Whedon through my adolescence. He is one of heroes and I fully credit him for me being able to get through my high school years.

Along the way, and because of my dad's influence, I also have an affinity for X-Men, Spider-Man and of course Batman. Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Storm, Rogue and Phoenix are my favorite female characters in comics.

Today, I am in my mid-20's and still as nerdy as ever. The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad are a big part of my life. If you enter conversation with me, expect for Walt or Rick to be a point of discussion. But you can always count on roping me in with a little Sunnydale talk and maybe even worlds with nothing but shrimp. Along with Sherif and our group of friends, we are trying to bring our love of comics, TV, movies, and anything that we deem "cool" to our brainchild, Hush Comics. Enjoy!
