I was named after the song, "Aja" by the band Steely Dan, so music has always been a part of me! I sing and have played clarinet for over 20 years.

I love bringing out the best in people! I am full of charisma and energy and feel that I have the ability to engage others, even when matters are difficult. I am passionate about making business processes time and cost effective and am always searching for new ways to be more productive.

Leadership styles have always intrigued me. I feel that an effective leader is able to bring out the best in others by making them feel valued and by uncovering what truly motivates them.

I have been in the Human Resources field for over 15 years, serving in positions of impact and leadership in the Hospitality, Logistics, Higher Education, Healthcare, Biotech and Non-Profit industries.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida A & M University and 2 Masters of Science degrees in Organizational Leadership & Effectiveness and Human Resources Management from Troy State University. I also hold a Senior in Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute; a Targeted Selection Interviewer certification from Development Dimensions International; a Recruiter Academy Certified Recruiter Accreditation, a North Carolina Public Employment Law certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Advanced Employee Relations and Investigations Certificate from Cornell University.
