Ajay  Puri

Ajay is passionate about social change and community empowerment. Over the past several years he has co-founded and continues to co-lead many movement based organizations including:

  1. Changemakers Vancouver: building, engaging and empowering a network of changemakers
  2. EastVanLove: hosting Tweetups featuring East Vancouver Champions
  3. Bee Vancity: an event listing guide promoting local & ecol events around Vancouver
  4. RangiChangi Roots: a non-profit society seeking to bridge the multicultural communities and the green movement

He was also a co-founder of Bridge to a Cool Planet - a coalition of over 30 multicultural, green and social justice groups which hosted the world's largest 350.org Climate Action Day with over 10,000+ attendees in 2009.

Ajay was acknowledged for his commitment and passion for engaging diverse communities as one of Canada's top five volunteers in CBC's Champions of Change contest, being one of Vancouver's #30PeopleYouShouldKnow, and nominated as a featured TEDx speaker.

He sits on the Leadership Council of the David Suzuki Foundation and for the past two years lead and developed the digital media and engagement strategy for the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council.

Ajay holds his Masters of Health Adminstration from UBC. He has published five peer-reviewed articles and presented his work on healthcare innovation at over 25 national and international conferences.
