Hola! :) This is Akanksha here from the Kolkata chapter of MAD. MAD, the word, especially when put out in block letters, catches anybody and everybody's attention. That was the purpose of christening our organization Make A Difference I would like to believe! :P But we truly wish to make a difference as well.
A motley bunch of enthusiastic youngsters spread out across the nation, trying to secure for -orphaned and underprivileged- kids their truly deserved share of happiness. This is what MAD is all about in a single statement. But there is more to it than that and you can find out what it is, only if you join the bandwagon. The sense of passion, devotion, commitment exhibited by those who volunteer for MAD, is to be seen to be believed.
We at MAD live by the old Chinese adage, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." So, we don't feed kids, we teach them how to feed (read: sustain) themselves. Quite literally. We teach them, to make them employable. This is what we do.
MADsters believe that no problem is unsolvable and no milestone unachievable if you strike the right balance between Values and Processes. And this is how we do it.
