Akhil Mathur

I am a researcher in the Internet of Things department at Bell Labs Ireland. My current research interests include mobile sensing, applied machine learning and enterprise-quantification technologies. My work has a strong focus on building novel mobile systems, and validating their efficacy through user feedback.

I am the recipient of Best Paper Honorable Mention Awards at ACM CHI '09, ACM MobileHCI '13, mBillionth Award South Asia 2013 for my work on CommunityWeb and the Wolfond fellowship at the University of Toronto. My research has been covered by several media organisations including the New Yorker, Financial Times, Livemint and CBC.

I received a MS (research) in Computer Science from University of Toronto in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Ravin Balakrishnan, and a B.Tech from DA-IICT in 2009 where I was awarded the President's Gold Medal.
