Though originally from Cape-Town, Sjanine grew up and developed most of her skills and talents in Pretoria for 18 years till she relocated down to the Eastern-Cape in January 2012.

'SJ' is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, music composer and electronic music producer and has been involved in numerous projects with various solo artists and bands of different styles and genres. She currently performs in an acoustic duo on guitar/vocals and drums/percussion for a few local bands in the area.

SJ got introduced to the electronic music scene at the age of 17 and immediately took a strong liking and approach to this musical outlet. Alchesound speaks to UmpamusicSA
