Alejandro is writer and journalist based on Washington DC. He is a regular columnist for Spain's El País.

His work has been featured in The Washington Post, NPR, Slate, Americas Quarterly, México's Letras Libres, and Venezuela's El Nacional and El Universal.

He was a finalist for the Lorenzo Natali Prize (organized by the European Commission) and the Prize for Journalistic Excellence of the Inter American Press Association.
