Alexis M. Mitchell has spent more than 25 years doing one thing exceptionally well: making people pay attention to what matters.

A two-time Emmy® Award-winning journalist turned social media strategist and advocate, Alexis began her career in the newsroom, where she logged a decade at WBTV, the CBS affiliate in Charlotte, and made her mark at WTVI (PBS) and on the radio airwaves of WPEG Power 98 and 97.1 WQMG. Those years taught her how to find the heart of a story and hold an audience. She's been applying that skill ever since, with results that are hard to ignore.

At Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), Alexis turned policy into people. Her digital campaigns, including #FreeGwenLevi and #KeepThemHome, reached millions, changed the conversation around sentencing, and helped deliver legislative wins and compassionate releases. When her alma mater's accreditation was on the line, she helped power the viral #StandWithBennett campaign, which raised $9.5 million in just 60 days. And as a key voice with Win With Black Women, she helped mobilize support for historic moments, including Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's Supreme Court confirmation and other landmark appointments in the Biden-Harris administration.

Her work has earned recognition from the UNCF (Outstanding Young Alumni Award), the Urban League of Central Carolinas (Young Professional Leadership Award), and Café Mocha (Media Innovator Award). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the National Press Club.

Whether she's telling a story, building a movement, or amplifying voices that too often go unheard, Alexis brings the same conviction: the right story, told the right way, can change what happens next.
