As founding principal of Pump Groupe, Alisa Alexander is the driving force behind the company’s vision, strategy and client activation. Alisa provides strategic communications leadership to dynamic national and international brands and nonprofit organizations.

A seasoned communications pro with more than a decade of experience providing counsel to companies ranging from major brands within publicly-traded advertising networks IPG (NYSE: IPG) and Publicis (PUB: EN Paris), to privately-funded companies in the foodservice, publishing and entertainment industries, Alisa brings veteran perspective to her role as the bridge between her clients, their public and the media, at any stage of corporate growth.

With a proven command of the art and science of earned media, Alisa has a penchant for developing large, multi-channeled communications initiatives that cross consumer and business media, while directly supporting brand vision and growth initiatives. Through her work on behalf of entertainers, agencies and corporations, Alisa has developed strong relationships with producers and editors at Bloomberg, CNBC, the Today Show, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, USA Today and media industry trades. Alisa has also developed top-to-top relationships with major industry organizations and events such as South By Southwest (SXSW), TED, Cannes Advertising Festival, and the Association of National Advertisers.

Before launching Pump, Alisa held an executive leadership role in PR at Wrapports, owner of the Chicago Sun-Times, where she also held a dual position as executive director of the Sun-Times Foundation. As the executive director, Alisa managed two million dollars in grants made to more than 100 nonprofit organizations per year through a matching grant partnership with The Chicago Community Trust.

Prior to joining Wrapports, Alisa was Director of Global Communications for Interpublic Group Mediabrands where she oversaw the full spectrum of corporate affairs, PR and industry relations for a constellation of brands within the Mediabrands umbrella and unified the communications departments of nearly a dozen units, and developed brand communications plans for offices in North America, EMEA and APAC.

Alisa earned degrees in advertising and women’s studies from the University of Illinois-Champaign. Alisa lives in New York with her husband and daughter.
