“Filling Up and Pouring Out” is a phrase that captures the heart of who we should long to be. In Romans 5:5 Paul says that, “God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Our lives are filled continually with God’s love and we are called to share that love with others.

We are travelers together on this journey of faith, supporting each other along the way. My hope is that you will experience God’s overwhelming love in ways that transform your life and the lives of those around you.

For what it's worth, here's a little about me...

I’m just a simple man from the Mid-South who, by the grace of God, is what he is, nothing fancy, just a traveler, going "on to perfection."

Raised in Memphis and rural Mississippi, my life has been uneventful by most standards, but that’s okay with me. In June of 1990, I married my high-school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children who remind us daily that God is good.

In October of 2003, I finally, after many years of defiance, surrendered to God's call. I am an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and serve as pastor of First United Methodist Church of Water Valley. I received my Master of Divinity degree from Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, where I am now pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Most of all, I just want to love God and my neighbor, and help others experience the abundant life that God has promised. What I am most passionate about is helping people see the diversity that exists within the Christian tradition. One of my favorite things to say is, "I'm not that kind of Christian."
