I know that being born in Detroit Michigan and being raised by my grandmother are the best gifts God has ever given me.  I learned from them that our circumstances do not define who we are.  When I knew what I was capable of and started believing in my responsibility to be a servant-leader to my neighbor, it was then that I evolved from a boy to a man.

The experiences of a 'poor black boy from the hood' is my motivation to prove what I call the paradox of brilliance.  Some claim that your community and circumstances will define who you are and what you will become.  That is only true however if we allow it be.  Aerodynamically speaking, a bumblebee is not supposed to be able to fly, but it doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.  I choose to live my life as the bee.  Ignoring the laws of science, I will never forget where I came from and am limited only by what I expect of myself.

Today I am the proud founder of Kelly Leadership Group, LLC.  A consulting and coaching firm dedicated to evolving the leadership of individuals and organizations. 

I am also the host of a radio show,  'Leadership The Way I See It' and founder of an empowering clothing line titled 'My Own Truth'.  The KLG empire has empowered thousands of people to live the life they choose on their terms.
