Alvaro Mantilla Gimenez
Cloud Systems Architect in Costa Rica
For over twenty years, I’ve been building systems, in the Cloud, that do what they’re supposed to: stay secure, run smoothly, and stand the test of time.
I care deeply about what I build—and it shows in the quiet details that often go unnoticed, but matter the most.
I work with logic, but also with empathy. I believe infrastructure should not only be robust, but also clear, maintainable, and thoughtful.
I’ve contributed to high-stakes environments where failure simply wasn’t an option. I’m most at home with OpenBSD, Linux, AWS, and automation tools like Python and Ansible.
I’m drawn to problems that don’t have ready-made answers. I enjoy sharpening tools, questioning assumptions, and designing each system as if it were the only one that matters—because, in a way, it is.
Sometimes the best system is the one you never notice. Sometimes the best security makes no noise. And sometimes, the best protection is foresight.
What I aim to build is useful, intentional tech. Systems that quietly support people when they need it most.
