Alvin Amante

Alvin Amante DDS has spent a major part of his dental career to those who are less fortunate. He shows an inclination to treat patients who would otherwise not have access to dental attention. Alvin Amante DDS recently served as an Instructor of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Rochester’s Eastman Institute of Oral Health. In addition, he is the Site Director of the Institute’s Smile Mobile program, a community outreach program directed at Rochester’s schoolchildren who are less fortunate. Founded in 1967, the program aims to give the city’s young people a chance to receive dental care. Before he completed the two-year Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Eastman Dental Center, Alvin Amante DDS gave his time and efforts to provide free dental care to a homeless youth shelter in Seattle, Washington. As a Volunteer Dentist for the mobile dental van, he conducted both routine and urgent dental care for these young people. Medical Teams International, organizer of the services, is a Christian organization that aims to provide low-cost or free medical care to individuals and families who are of low income, homeless, or migrant workers. The Mobile Dental Program, with which Dr. Amante volunteered, has provided care for 176,000 patients from its 11 clinics in Washington and Oregon. Alvin Amante DDS also traveled with the organization to Oaxaca, Mexico, on three separate occasions, providing care for less-fortunate communities around the city. Alvin Amante DDS earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry in 1993. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of Rochester in 2000 and finished his Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the same institution in 2010. Dr. Amante is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Currently he works at Culpeper Kids Dentistry in Culpeper, VA.
