Anne Marie Barnes

As Educational Programs Manager & Fellowship Advisor, my mission is to foster the National Sporting Library & Museum community. Our community includes local visitors and families, equestrian, fly fishing, fox hunting, and field sports organizations across the world, and scholars from our own back yard and from all corners of the Earth.

The NSLM not only discusses the current state of sporting art, literature, and culture, but is a repository of invaluable national history. I love showcasing our small non-profit and finding connections to people from all walks of life and interests.

My passion for museum work began shortly after graduation. After earning my Bachelor's degree in History from James Madison University, I found myself employed at the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center. Between FAMCC and my subsequent position at the Washington Heritage Museums, I have done everything from changing light bulbs to designing summer camps to formulating major fundraisers.

I currently live in Northern Virginia with my husband and too many books.
