Andree Swanson, EdD, MAOM, MHR

Dr. Andree Swanson earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on distance education from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, Dr. Swanson earned two masters degrees: a Masters of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Maryland -- European Division.
Dr. Swanson's father was in the Air Force, and she married her high-school sweetheart joined the military while still in high school! She spent the first 40 years of her life travelling. Andree has lived all over the world from 3 years on Okinawa in the 1960s to 5 years in Germany in the 1970s and 1990s. She has seen Okinawa return to Japan and was in Europe when the Wall came down in Berlin.
As varied as the places where Andree has lived, she has had varied career, starting out in retail, and then working for the government for 13 years as a secretary, writer/editor, and office manager. Fortunately, Andree decided to resign from the government in September 1994, a few months before the tragic bombing of the A.P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.
Beyond office management work, Andree focused on corporate training. She has worked as a corporate trainer and evolved to become the national training manager for a rental company. Dr. Swanson has her own consulting business and teaches at several online universities. She always wanted to be a college teacher and pursued that dream in 1997. Since that time, Dr. Swanson has either worked full time or part time teaching. Most nights you will find her on the computer! (Most days too!)

Dr. Swanson teaches a great number of graduate-level courses in the Masters of Organizational Management program. Dr. Swanson's academic interests are in business and educational leadership and distance education. She presented her dissertation, Establishing the Best Practices for Social Interaction and e-Connectivity in Online Higher Education Classes, in May 2011 at Kaplan University and presented it again at the 27th Annual Distance Learning Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. vDr. Swanson is an active member of the Colorado Distance Learning Association, MERLOT, and Sloan-C.
Andree is married to Craig, a retired Army First Sergeant, and they have one son, Nicholas, a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and an MBA student at Ashford Uni
