Recently recognized as PR Week's Top 40 Under 40, McCaskill is an accredited communications and crisis management executive with 20 years of experience delivering award-winning communications and public relations campaigns at Fortune 500 companies and highly successful technology start-ups.

For more than a decade, McCaskill was laser beam focused on developing communications strategies to take technology companies from launch to liquidity. In ten years, the accredited PR executive helped launch more than 100 venture-backed technology providers, mostly in highly regulated industries. Later as senior vice president in the corporate practice at Weber Shandwick New York, he led global communications strategy for Fortune 50 companies and household-name brands.

In a 2012 article, McCaskill said, "The business of branding and selling products with compelling content fascinates me. Some of my clients are literally geniuses, but I appreciate that pressure. It has made me a better strategic advisor, and it makes the creative process a lot of fun. My clients win, and they win big; great storytelling has been integral to those wins. I’m proud of that."

Today as senior vice president of global communications, McCaskill reports to Nielsen’s Chief Communications Officer and serves as leader of Nielsen’s Global Media Relations Center of Excellence. He provides guidance and counsel to Nielsen’s media relations teams in 106 countries on proactive public relations and reputation management issues. He leads global media relations campaigns and pitches stories to print, broadcast and online media. McCaskill leads the company’s external media relations strategies for all global surveys, multicultural communications, corporate social responsibility and the company’s technology incubators in New York and Israel and acts as communications liaison to the Company’s investor relations team.

The Mississippi native holds a BA in English from Morehouse College and an MBA in Management Strategy from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. His communications experience spans broadcast and print journalism, public relations and brand marketing and includes stints at Coca-Cola and Time Warner. He is the immediate past president of the Black Public Relations Society of Atlanta and currently sits on the Public Relations Society of America's MBA Initiative Committee.
