Andrew Rockett

Throughout his career, real estate investment and development entrepreneur Andrew F Rockett has demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the New England commercial market. He began his career in Boston in 1989 and had founded his first company, Great Island Development (GID), by 1991. As a founding partner of GID, Andrew Rockett played a key role in the firm's consultation services to and equity partnership with W/S Development. The venture ultimately secured the purchase and development of 60 Wal-Mart stores and anchored properties.

Also instrumental in GID's relationship with Dead River Company of Maine and its advisory services to Lowe's Home Centers, Andrew Rockett facilitated the acquisition of numerous big box stores and shopping centers throughout New England. He now leads Rockett Real Estate Investments, LLC, of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Since its founding in 2010, the firm has acquired a number of southeastern Massachusetts properties, including Rodman Candleworks. Andy F Rockett has a special passion for buildings with a historical past.

Rockett is currently involved in directing development of the Candleworks property, located adjacent to the Whaling National Historical Park. Plans currently call for the building of a boutique hotel on what is now a parking lot as well as the redevelopment of the Candleworks building, which will ultimately feature hotel rooms, luxury condominium residences, a health spa, and a conference center. Dedicated to promoting solar energy when and where possible, Andrew Rockett also recently secured a permit to build a ground-mounted solar project in the nearby town of Acushnet.
