Andrew Nicholson

From an early age, Andrew was drawn to all things mysterious and unexplained. Soon after graduating from Little Golden Books some of his favourite books became the likes of Mysteries of the Unexplained, Into the Unknown and Strange Stories, Amazing Facts. Some of his favourite TV shows growing up included In Search Of, Ripley's Believe it Or Not and Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World. Andrew's other great love has always been the Australian bush. Growing up, he spent many weekends with family and friends camping and bushwalking in remote areas of the Blue Mountains, Central West and Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. Over the years he has travelled widely around Australia, including to such out-of-the-way places as Birdsville, Oodnadatta, Lake Eyre, William Creek and through the Simpson and Sturt's Stony Deserts. In 2011, with more than 18 years writing and editing experience, mainly within the mundane world of banking and finance, Andrew established weirdaustralia.com as a way to rekindle his love of both writing and all things mysterious and unexplained. Since weirdaustralia.com began, articles have been featured on the likes of The Anomalist, Mysterious Universe, and paranormal.about.com, and have also been linked from popular sites such as cryptomundo.com, jimharold.com and Coast to Coast AM. Encouraged by the many positive reviews and feedback he has received for weirdaustralia.com, Andrew has released Weird Australia: Real Reports of Uncanny Creatures, Strange Sightings & Extraordinary Encounters which includes many of the best reports from weirdaustralia.com as well as many more intriguing accounts from the depths of the archives.
