Angie Blackwell

McMinnville, OR

I am a Native American and a lifelong Oregonian. I am a wife, a mother and a nana. I love Oregon's seasons and wine and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world.

My passion is to improve the quality of life for young people that got off to a rough start. Not so long ago, I was a high school drop out teen mom. Today I am a successful college graduate with 5 grown kids. While I appreciate bootstrapers that work their way out of poverty and hardship, I know from experience that it cannot happen without support and resources.

Someone has to believe in these young people. Someone has to remind them that they can do it, whatever "it" may be.

I'm someone so I guess it will be me.
