Chronic daily migraines leave me unable maintain a schedule, but I'm focused on keeping my skills sharp until we beat the migraines into submission. My clients have to be flexible beyond both reason and expectation, which is why I'm working with my husband, parents, and best friends.
Before these headaches, I was the Product Manager of B2B tools for an HVAC manufacturer, acting as the bridge between Marketing and IT. My background includes public speaking and event planning, information design and curriculum development, facilitation and delivery of training in both classrooms and online, presentation coaching, technical writing, web and graphics design, and a bit of coding thrown in for fun.
On my good days, I manage marketing activities, including web design and social media, for my husband, 2003 World Champion of Public Speaking Jim Key. I do the same for my father, Windcrest Santa Jim. I even co-wrote, photographed, and published a childrens' bookfor him last year.
And if the migraines cooperate, I shoot my friends as Keyframe Photography. I believe the most compelling photos capture someone's personality or a relationship between people. My goal is to make people so comfortable they almost forget my camera is there. It's when they forget to be self-conscious and start having fun that I capture my favorite shots.
I share photos and blog about living with chronic illness and making the most of the good days at Shooting From the Hip.
