Ann Colley

Ann Colley is executive director and vice president of The Moore Charitable Foundation, The Trinchera & Tercio Foundation, and the Orton Foundation, serving as primary staff in advancing and fulfilling the non-profit organization's mission of environmental conservation, concentrating on land and water resources.She works closely with the board to identify and review proposals and fund approximately 200 organizations per year. In this capacity, she represents the foundation in its interactions with and outreach to more than 90 conservation organizations. In addition she is the lead advisor to the foundation's principal, Louis Moore Bacon, in his land, water and community efforts in the Bahamas and southern Colorado, Brunswick County, NC and Long Island, NY.

Ms. Colley joined The Moore Charitable Foundation in 1994 shortly after Mr. Bacon founded the organization. Her previous experience was in the political sector. She worked on gubernatorial, congressional and presidential campaigns. She began her career in program design and fundraising for Communities in Schools in Charlotte, NC. Her involvement with The Moore Charitable Foundation gave her the opportunity to match her profession with her lifelong passion for conservation and environmental stewardship, interests that were instilled in her by her parents.

Ms. Colley serves on the Board of Trustees of Waterkeeper Alliance, which The Moore Charitable Foundation was instrumental in founding as well as the Board of Directors of Hudson Riverkeeper, The What Is Missing? Foundation and the Rainforest Foundation US. She is a member of The National Council of the Land Trust Alliance, Oceana's Ocean Council and Conservation International's Chairmen's Council. Ms. Colley attended Hollins University, the Sorbonne and graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with honors and a B.A. in Political Science. She lives in New York City and has two sons.
