Anthony Navetta

Math Teacher Anthony Navetta served Don Estridge High Tech Middle School in Boca Raton, Florida, as Chairman of the Math Department. He distinguished himself there by winning the Teacher of the Year Award twice. Previously, Anthony Navetta acted as a Math Teacher for Loggers’ Run Middle School, also in Boca Raton, where he also earned a Teacher of the Year Award and coached the track team. To keep up to date in his field, Anthony Navetta belongs to different professional organizations, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Education Association, and Palm Beach’s Classroom TCA. An avid runner himself, Anthony Navetta participates in triathlons and belongs to the USA Triathlon and the Northwest Broward Road Runners Club. As a devoted runner, he attended the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1996, where he was thrilled to watch Michael Johnson break the world record for the 200-meter dash. Anthony Navetta has always enjoyed the pursuit of travel, with his tastes running toward destinations that provide natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. To that end, he has traveled to Yosemite National Park, where he was mightily impressed with the giant sequoias, the deep valleys and huge meadows, and the natural rock formation El Capitan. Anthony Navetta also enjoyed his visit to Yellowstone National Park, witnessing a wide variety of wildlife, including bison, deer, elk, and bears. He hiked into Mount St. Helens crater and up Mount Rainier in Washington, and was awed by the power of nature in both locations. Other spots Anthony Navetta has visited and enjoyed include the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum; there, he was touched by the memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 1995 bombing. Anthony Navetta has also explored the California coastline by driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and he remembers the natural beauty of the landscape as he traveled north. Anthony Navetta contributes to United Way Worldwide, an organization dedicated to helping children achieve their potential through education, promoting financial independence for the underserved, and improving peoples’ health. He helps to distribute money throughout the organization’s charities.
