António Lopes

Researcher, Professor, and Sports Consultant in Lisboa, Portugal

António Lopes received is diploma degree in Physical Education and Sports in 2005, from Lusófona University and the Ph.D degree, with honors, in Sport Sciences in 2011, from INEFC - Lleida University. He is an assistant professor at Physical Education and Sports Faculty in Lusófona University in Portugal, working with undergraduate courses and students in Applied Informatics, Games Analysis, as well master in Football and doctor courses teaching Game Analysis, and Supervising in High Performance Sport. At this institution he's also an advisor for research and extension education and was an executive editor at Gymnasium - Lusófona Journal of Physical Education, Sports and Health. He collaborates with international research groups in Sport Sciences: Computer Vision Laboratory from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, MASI group - Methodology for the analysis of social interaction. He's the local coordinator of the latter group at Lusófona University. He's also an invited researcher for the international project "Observación de la interacción en deporte y actividad física: Avances técnicos y metodológicos en registros automatizados cualitativos-cuantitativos" during the period 2012-2015 [Grant DEP2012-32124]. He works with sports industry and associations collaborating with WTvision, Digisource, Playfulvision, Fluendo and Interactfields, and a member of scientific committee of Portuguese Handball Coach’s' Association and member of the Union University Handball Teachers of the European Handball Federation. As coach he has the handball Level IV/Master Coach Portuguese license and has the EHF Master Coach Pro License. He has also the Prozone Performance Analysis in Football Course Level III. He was head coach in the first team at prestigious club in the Portuguese first league, and also a performance analyst in the Portuguese Handball Federation with National Women team and under-18 male team. From August 2014 to January 2016 he was performance analyst of the Angola National Women team.
