Cultures and customs are vividly brought to life through Anglo-Australian writer Apple Gidley, who has lived and worked in countries as diverse as Papua New Guinea, Thailand, The Netherlands and nine others. Her varied roles include editing a regional magazine for an international charity, selling dive equipment, springing Distressed British Nationals from gaol, teaching English in an African barrio, among others.

Apple is a regular contributor to Global Living Magazine, and writes for various other print and online publications. Whether writing travel articles, essays and blogs discussing the global trail or local interests, to giving rein to her imagination, Apple is able to evocatively portray peoples and places with empathy and humour.

Currently based in Downtown Houston Apple enjoys the vibrancy of the city, with her interest in art, culture and history being fulfilled by her role on the Advisory Board of the University Museum at Texas Southern University. She is involved in the international community, and is a past board member for Families in Global Transition. Apple believes to be a true global nomad we have to be actively engaged in wherever we call home, for the moment.
