Aravindhan Anbazhagan is working as a Development Associate with Teach For India, a non-profit organization in the education sector. Teach For India envisions that 'One Day All Children Will Attain An Excellent Education' and operates with 34 schools impacting 3400+ students from the under-resourced communities of Chennai.

Aravindhan recently completed his two-year Fellowship at Chennai Middle School, MGR Nagar teaching 30 Grade 5 children popularly known as the 'Design Thinkers'. He was a 2016 undergraduate in Computer Science and Engineering from Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology, Chennai.

He is a dynamic volunteer of IEEE for 5+ years and the first volunteer from IEEE Madras Section to be the recipient of the prestigious MGA Larry K Wilson - Outstanding Student Volunteer Award representing IEEE Asia-Pacific Region. In 2018, Aravindhan also became the first volunteer IEEE Asia-Pacific Region to receive the IEEE Meritorious Achievement Award in Pre-University Education which is awarded to the outstanding pre-university educators around the globe who promoted STEM activities among the students.

Aravindhan actively participated, volunteered and organized in a total of 130+ students and Young Professional activities with IEEE at various scales including his Student Branch, Section, India Council and Region 10 and held 15+ leadership and officer roles as an IEEE student and Young Professional volunteer. He is one among the 16 recipients of Richard E Merwin Student Leadership Scholarship from IEEE Computer Society worth $1000 during October 2014 cycle.

He represented IEEE Madras Section as a delegate thrice at AISC (2013-15), thrice at AICSSC (2013 -15) and twice at R10 Asia-Pacific SYW Congress at Colombo and Bangalore. He also represented the Madras Section Leadership at IEEE Sections Congress held at Sydney, Australia. He enjoys interacting with Engineering students and sharing his experiences. So far, he has delivered talks at 23 educational institutions across India. He led the Program Committee of the All India IEEE Computer Society Students & Young Professionals Congress 2018 which was held at Goa College of Engineering.

His inspiring work along with the impact has been featured on the New Indian Express, Enonus: Inspire beyond Borders and Stumagz, an online magazine.

Aravindhan strongly believes in building a community of passionate and committed students leaders, will eventually bring a change to the country and the entire world.
