Ardsley Partners

Based in Stamford, Connecticut, Ardsley Partners is a long-short equity management firm that has been in operation for more than a quarter of a century. The firm currently manages roughly $600 million in assets, distributed across its primary flagship fund and sector funds including renewable energy,technology, media and telecommunications andlife sciences. In addition to its longevity and accomplished investment staff, Ardsley has earned distinction for its comprehensive fundamental research and analytics. This process typically includes both an exhaustive bottom-up review performed by a senior analyst specializing in the industry and a top-down analysis provided by an Ardsley Partners veteran portfolio manager.

Over a decade ago, Ardsley Partners began to move increasingly into the clean-technology sector with its long-term investment approach. In 2006, the firm launched the Ardsley Partners Renewable Energy Fund, L.p., investing in targeted public equities which address the growing global energy problem. The fund started with $15 million in assets and has since grown to approximately $100 million.

In addition to the Ardsley Partners Renewable Energy Fund, L.P.'s mandate to invest in green technology, Ardsley also donates one tenth of the management fee proceeds to GRID Alternatives, a renewable energy nonprofit based in Oakland, California. This organization works with underprivileged communities to help fund and install solar panels in local residences and institutions.
