Sébastien Arnaud is a French Software Architect, Engineer, and Inventor. With a passion for Data Science in particular Machine Learning, General Game playing, Natural Language Processing and Text Analytics, Sébastien is an entrepreneur at heart, who loves turning ideas into products.
Sébastien joined a young startup, Opinionlab, back in 2001 and lead the technology innovation, operation and development of the company for almost a decade before focusing on research and development endeavors in the field of text analytics and machine learning. Shortly after Opinionlab was acquired by Verint, in 2016, he officially became Director of Research and Data Science to continue to aggressively pursue some key innovations in the field of machine learning applied to VoC data. In 2018 he joined the VOC Software Architecture Team at Verint to merge two different platforms into a new big data/predictive analytics driven solution.
Sébastien reached the Master level on Kaggle.com in 2014 for his past competitive entries, in particular for his real-time competitive solution for the “Job Salary Prediction” using Lucene similarities and Genetic Programming which ranked him in the top 150 machine learning professionals in March 2013.
Sébastien is an active open source contributor and polyglot programmer. Most of his public contributions can be found on Github. He has also appeared on several occasions on podcasts such as Techzing and wrote an AI game engine in Javascript for a novel iPad board game called “Swarm," amongst many side projects and consulting engagements with startups over the years.
Sébastien has been enjoying mentoring over the last few years, while continuously learning about new technologies and applications of Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning. He recently collaborated with the Harvard incubated startup Experfy, during the summer of 2018, to release his first online course on Cloud Native Computing.
