My name is Varun Arora, & I love digging and solving customers’ problems through my structured thinking, relentless execution, and ability to build long-term relationships.

Professionally and personally, I am a left-brained person, which makes me good with tasks involving Logic, Language, and Analytical thinking.

With my last 9 yrs of work experience, I have worked across different phases of the Product development lifecycle:

  • Paytm Postpaid EMI: Consumer Durables Financing product
  • Current Account for Payments Bank
• Scale 🚀 (1->10x Products):
  • UPI(2.5m Active uses: 30% share of all Groww Payin transactions)
• Optimization 🔧(Under the hood improvements)
  • Payments SR: Managing Downtimes, Alerts, Monitoring
  • Control Tower for Operations
  • Merchant Lending KYC Funnel Conversion Improvements: fallback implemented for KYC drops

Currently, I am working with some of the brightest minds at Groww to solve the Payments(Payin + Payout) problem and reduce the Payments Conversion TAT via different initiatives.

Some of my wins 🥇 :

1. I have launched and scaled Groww UPI to 2M Active users on the platform for all their deposit use cases. It eventually reduced the payments conversion tat (Payment INIT-> Terminal State) for all Groww deposits by 15s through the Preferred Payments feature + One Click Checkout experience.
2. Improved the Deposit SR by 7% by implementing contextual error handling, managing downtimes, and solving Third-party verification issues.
3. Streamlined and reduced Ops manhours(2 hrs/day/person) by moving the manual recon process to an automated one.
4. Built redundancy by enabling another bank to process Payouts. Tested the integration by gradually routing 100% of the Payout traffic(~3m trxns/month,~400Cr of volume) via the new Bank.

When my kids are not demanding my attention, I would love to work out and re-watch the episodes of “The Office”, “Modern Family” and all movies of MCU(Big fan of Sci-fi genre movies).
